Fell down the stairs and found a new hiding place

About a week ago I fell down the basement stairs and stopped eating and didn't walk much and really, really worried my humans. They should've known that it was my way of healing, but nooooo, hudaddy just HAD to take me to the doc again! Well as it turns out that was a good thing because she gave me these pills that really knocked out the pain and got me back up and walking. Humomma said I reminded her of Angel Charmin when she used to walk around in circles, then fall down cuz she was dizzy. They're still trying to train Katie to be my guide dog, but she won't do it. Maybe Libby will do it?

Remember my last note about my new hiding place? Well since I got discovered by the light box I decided to dig in a little further... er, not really digging, but you know what I mean. It's the next best thing to digging that I've found in these parts where the outside ground is rock hard. This spot is right around the corner from where I was before and if it wasn't for my hudaddy finding me it would still be a secret!

Those speaker wires don't make the best pillow, but they provide a little distance between my face and those daggon dust bunnies! Humomma wanted you all to see that I was holding my head up again.

Since I can't do much hopping around anymore like I used to I decided to join this Blog Hop! When I signed up I was number 64. Come along and join the fun!

My new hiding place

Guess what? Nobody can find me here... well at least not the other furries in this house. Of course the two-legged guy with the flashbox found me, but he was really quiet so I could keep my special hiding place. None of the other doggies can fit in here anyway and the kitties only like soft places, so unless they lay on top of me, well,  I don't have to worry about them.

Thanks to everyone for writing in and asking about how I'm doing. Since I can't see much anymore I'm bumping in to more things and getting lost in the back yard. The other day my humomma had to put on golashes and don an umbrella to come rescue me from the rain. Guess where I was standing? Out on the cement by Charmin's grave waaaaaay in the very back of our big back yard. Guess I was asking for her help finding my way back. You know all that rain made it hard to sniff my way back to the deck. I couldn't even smell my own stuff to know where to drop more and kept going around in circles. Good news though! Still no more tumor growing back! WOOHOOO!!!!!

Take care everyone. Summer is on the way!

Look, no more tumor!

So my two-legged momma took a picture of my belly sans tumor, but then decided it was a bit too revealing since this is a family blog, so you'll have to use your imagination a bit to see my flat belly. Remember how big that tumor was? Well let me tell  ya, I am feeling sooooooo much better now and as you can see, am all smiles! If you zoom in on the pic you can also see my shiny white teeth. Daddy asked the doc to clean my teeth while she had me knocked out for the surgery. Now my humans let me kiss them without wincing from the bad breath.

If you haven't been on Katie's blog lately, go read all about our new sister Libby. She's an 8 year old Border Collie mix and she thinks she's the boss of everyone, except me of course. She just pretty much ignores me, probably thinks I'm just furniture since I'm usually sitting or laying on my pillow and staying out of everyone's way.

Thanks to everyone for your care and concern. My humans read all of your comments to me since I couldn't get online for awhile.

Resting again with Echo

Here's what I did this weekend while my humans had a girls' weekend at the house. Well actually this is what I do most of the time these days, but you know a guy's gotta conserve his energy, right? My feline sis Echo was helping me stay warm and even gave me a bit of a bath. Ain't she sweet!

My checkup

We all made a trip to the vet yesterday to get kennel cough shots so we could bring home our new adopted sister Libby. The vet gave me a quick looksy and, yes Daddy, the surgery spot was good!

Proof that I can find my way in the yard

Hey folks I'm back and wanted to show you that I really, really, REALLY can find my way from clear in the back of our huge yard all the way to the back door. Sure I follow the familiar voice of my humans, but even when they're not talking I can still do it. Thanks to all of you for your warm and caring thoughts while I was recuperating from the surgery. It still kinda smarts, but momma makes sure I don't lick it (yeah she keeps putting that silly upside down hat on my head!) and she puts this fizzy stuff on the sores. Pretty soon I'll be like new again!

Update on Tucker (from Katie)

Hi all, Katie here on behalf of my little big brother Tucker who is right now fast asleep after a long day of visitors. Our humans had a big birthday party here and everyone wanted to see his owies. He's such a trooper and just let people look without complaining. Then everyone settled down and they put some tiny little human in the room with him to be quiet and sleep, so he was really happy. He wanted me to tell you that he got the tubes out. They were for drainage. He didn't like it when Momma put that liquid stuff on that fizzes up, but he let her do it anyway when she told him it might get infected and he'd have to wear that cone longer. Our Daddy keeps taking the cone off of him, then when Tucker starts licking again back it goes. Momma is very thankful for all of your warm thoughts and she keeps telling him how many friends he has that are thinking about him and wanting to see his cute face again. He's walking really good now so I bet it won't be long before he's running and hopping up and down like he used to do!

Happy wags...
Katie
