They tell me my days are numbered

I don't think I so much believe them, but the doc told my human mom and dad Saturday that I only have 6 to 8 months to live. Seems they found an egg-shaped lump where no lump should be, you know, right there alongside my, well, my man-part! Doc called it a mast cell tumor and had a very sad look on her face when she said since it came on so fast and because of where it was growing, the outcome was pretty grim. We all almost cried when she said her own dog wouldn't see his tenth year because he had cancer. Yes, so there, I said the big C word.... I HAVE CANCER!!! My humans cried when we got home and hugged me really big, but I don't know what all the fuss is about. After all, I've lived 13 of my expected 12 to 14 years for a Wire Fox Terrier!!! Now if they could just figure out what this very sore lump on my left back paw is from I'd be happy. It means another trip to the doc tomorrow, so I'll update you then. Later on I'll share some family pictures, but until then it's snoozing time around this house....

  1. Oh, Tucker. We're sad to read this. We needed the tissues that Gussie warned us to bring, cuz it breaks our hearts (and Moma's too) when any furry or fuzzy is so ill. But especially one of our own. We hope about mast cell tumors.... Moma had a wire with one. And our Gramma has a Yorkie with one. The C word is just as horrid for us doggies as it is for our people. We're glad you've got a vettie and family who understand, though, cuz they'll be learning more and knowing just how to help you.

  2. Hey pal, nice to meet you. So sorry to hear about the C word, but just thought I'd let you know that I've beaten Cancer twice! I had a malignant tumour removed from my neck and last year I had major surgery for lung cancer. There's always hope! J x
